The Marvel Universe Live Review

Tampa, Florida

We went, we saw, and boy do we have one hell of a Marvel Universe Live review for you! Picture yourself in Tony Stark’s multi-million dollar penthouse in the Avengers’ Tower then get whisked away to the Himalayas,

Hydra Island and Loki’s Fortress as an epic battle of good versus evil unravels before your eyes. Our very excited Little Fairytale Traveler, affectionately known as the “Little,” had this to say about the press opening of Marvel Universe Live:

A standing ovation filled the room after the action-packed Marvel Universe Live performance.

It was epic! I got to meet Cyclops. He showed me some superhero skills before the show. There was fire, and bikes, and epic battles. Spider-Man jumped from really high and Captain America did a sweet thing with his bike.

He drove over fire and made sparks fly out of his shield. There was sweet kicks and it was all epic, I loved it!

Awesome stunts on motorbikes were just a fraction of the talent at the Marvel Universe Live event.

A standing ovation stood to prove that Marvel Universe Live killed it with its début press opening last night at the Tampa Bay Times Forum. Its official début opens July 10th to start the first date of an 85-city U.S. tour over the next two years. International dates TBA.

Kids, parents, and Marvel Universe fans are going to be blown away by this performance. The stunts, costumes, and digital projections came together to make this show unforgettable.

With classic Marvel Comic art, action-packed gravity-defying performances, and even an appearance from the Incredible Hulk himself, this show proved to be a hit.

Cool Things We Loved

An unsurprisingly angry Wolverine trying to save his friend Cyclops.

From the moment the storyline narration began, we knew we were in for a journey. The projection art was vivid and made you feel like you stepped into a comic book. The opening act featured Thor, my favorite Marvel superhero, and a Nordic classic.

Loki of course was evil as ever as the opening battle between good versus evil unveiled. The costumes were dead on. Iron Man blew me away. There was not a stitch out-of-place, this really was Marvel Universe “live!” Every fight scene was perfectly choreographed, every stunt flawlessly timed.

A stunning Incredible Hulk took 1500 plus hours to build with 4 Hulk prototypes. Hulk requires 2 car batteries just to get going. Sounds like my normal morning.

  2. Thanks for the review. I was wondering the show would be good or not.

  3. Thanks for the info! Were there any bad seats that had limited views of stage or action on the main floor?

    • No not at all. I was in the Tampa Bay Times Forum though, so I can’t exactly speak for other venues. You should always check out the venue seating chart online. The stage is set up with a “U” shaped audience, I found a great angle to be in the curve of the “U”. Our press area was on the curve because they said the best shots were from there. Elevated one above the ground floor. When I sat with my family after shooting from the press area, it was on the other side of the curve just a little below and it was also fine. The action is all over.

      • Thanks Christa. I will be attending the show with Family and Friends on August 1st at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, NJ. I had already purchased 6 tickets in the section closest to the stage and started second guessing my selection. I know all venues are different, but I was nervous those seats would have a clipped view of the stage and screen behind it.

  6. Considering this for my 12 year old in Spring of 2016 here in Florida. Would you make a suggestion on seat choice? If I choose side of stage I may get closer to action but wonder if it is best to sit perpendicular to performance area to see screen etc. from that end.

    • Honestly, from where we were in the press booth, all the seats looked great. It’s an awesome arena. I’d say anywhere in the middle height rows would be perfect. Such an awesome show!
